Advanced EMDR courses

You’ve done Basic Training and you use EMDR. Now you want tools for the cases where it stalls: couples caught in attachment trauma, parents and kids at war, clients who can’t settle. These courses weave what Kathleen knows best into the EMDR you already have.

The courses

Three ways to go deeper.

Each course runs when a small group is ready. Dates appear here, on the calendar, and in The Lavender Letter the moment they’re set.

    EMDR & Attachment

    • EMDRIA credits
    • Practice in small groups, with debriefs

      Format announced with each date

      EMDR & Parenting

      • EFFT woven into EMDR
      • EMDRIA credits
      • Real family cases, slowed down

        What they have in common

Not a repeat of Basic Training.

Every advanced course assumes you already know the protocols. The time goes to what’s new: a different lens, a different set of moves, and a lot of practice with people who get it.

        • Taught, then practiced. Short teaching, then you try it, in pairs and small groups, with Kathleen watching over your shoulder.
        • Debriefed. Every practice session ends with time to talk about what happened, so nobody leaves holding something alone.
        • Credited. Each course carries EMDRIA credits toward certification and renewal, and you leave with slides, handouts and protocols you’ll actually use.
        • Small. Groups stay small enough that the quiet people get as much as the loud ones.

Eligibility: licensed or pre-licensed mental health professionals who have completed a full EMDRIA-approved Basic Training and are using EMDR with clients.

        Always developing

Want a course for your group?

Kathleen is always building new classes. Past courses have included EMDR for peak performance, integrating Christian faith into EMDR, and her own EMDR protocol for clients with ADD. If you’d like to bring one of these, or any advanced course, to your practice, agency or conference, ask her.

        Kathleen Fitzgerald

        Your trainer

A rare weave, taught by someone who lives it.

Kathleen Fitzgerald is an EMDRIA Approved Trainer and Approved Consultant, certified in EFT, EFIT, EFFT and IFS, and a certified nature therapist. Few trainers can teach trauma, attachment, the body and nature. Fewer can weave them together in the room.

Before she was a therapist, she was a teacher. It shows: her courses are organized, clear, packed with practice, and a little bit funny.
